CURRENT ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL ELECTIVES - The following are our current Adult Sunday School classes.  Each class meets during the 9:45-10:45 AM time slot here at the church.

Preaching minister Mike Curry teaches the Fellowship Class in - you guessed it - the Fellowship Hall.  Mike's kicking off a new study series based on the classic book The Pursuit of Holiness by Jerry Bridges.

Dave Silvers continues to lead a year-round, through-the Bible study using lessons based on the International Standard Sunday School Lesson.  The class meets in the Loyal Berean classroom, behind the worship auditorium.

Come join us for these exciting and life-changing educational opportunities!  Contact the church office at 757-587-0401 for further information on our adult education program at CHCC.

THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST - Unlike the other upcoming events you'll see listed on this page, we don't know exactly when, but Jesus is coming back again! And it is our intention to be ready for Him when He comes!

The Bible clearly states that at some future time, the Lord Jesus will return to planet Earth to gather up His followers and take them home. The apostle Paul advised the church in 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 that "According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever."

Now, the Scriptures also state clearly that the timing is up to God, and not known by man: "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other... No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." (Matthew 24:30-31, 36)

Will you be ready for this grand event? Will you be prepared to go with the Savior to the place He has prepared for those who follow Him? If there's any doubt in your mind, contact the church office at 757-587-0401. Or better yet, stop in for a visit this Sunday. You'll be glad you did!!
